Pendidikan Islam pada Masa Nabi Muhammad SAW: Kajian Sosio-Historis terhadap Kondisi Geografis Makkah dan Perkembangan Kuttab

Abstract


This research analyzes how Islamic education developed during the time of Prophet Muhammad PBUH. It highlights the geography, the nature of Arab society, and the rise of the kuttab as an early educational institution. The study focuses on how education transformed in a society with low literacy and an informal schooling system. Using a literature review method, data was gathered by reviewing relevant books and journal articles. The data was then analyzed using a descriptive-analytical approach to explain, interpret, and connect information based on the history of Islamic education. The findings show that before Islam, Arab society relied on oral traditions to pass down knowledge. Islam brought major changes by prioritizing reading, writing, and teaching the values of tawhid and morality. This study contributes to the history of Islamic education by providing a socio-historical analysis of how Makkah's geography, Arab society, and the kuttab shaped Islamic learning.
